An Urbandale man has been charged Tuesday after authorities said he lead them on a chase along Interstate-80.
State Patrol officials said a trooper spotted Jamaal Applewhite, 25, of Urbandale, speeding near 2nd Avenue at 7:15 a.m. The trooper said Applewhite was also weaving in and out of traffic.
The trooper activated his lights and siren, but said Applewhite accelerate and kept going.
Applewhite drove through a construction zone at the east mixmaster and lost control of his motorcycle, the trooper reported.
He's charged with eluding, reckless driving and failure to maintain control.
