Ida brings heavy rains to parts of Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Tropical storm Ida brought heavy rainfall to south and central Alabama Monday night and Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service reports that Mobile and Evergreen received more than 3.5 inches of rain in the 24-hour period ending at 6 a.m. Tuesday. Troy reported 3.3 inches. Selma measured more than 2.5 inches, and Montgomery had slightly more than 2 inches.
