A teenage girl who had been forced from her home and raped Monday morning was able to escape to a neighbor's house and call police, Winston-Salem police said.
Police said they were called to a location on Winfield Drive at about 2:20 a.m. after receiving a report that the girl had been raped.
Police said that the girl's mother had left the house to run an errand and while she was gone, Jose Santos Fuentes Ramos, 26, came inside the home and forced the girl to go with him to a nearby secluded area, where police said he raped her.
Ramos, who is an acquaintance of the girl, was arrested at a home on Pineview Drive at about 10 a.m. Monday and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a child.
He was being held in the Forsyth County Jail on a $5 million bond.
