Layoff Notices To Be Issued In Lorain

LORAIN, Ohio - Layoff notices will arrive in Lorain City worker’s mailboxes today.

The city jail will close because the three corrections officers who run it will be getting laid off.

In all, there will be 36 layoffs.

The Lorain County sheriff said it will be tough to figure out how to house Lorain's criminals in addition to Elyria's. Elyria closed its jail about a month ago.
