Representative Stephanie Herseth Sandlin voted against the health care bill and Senator John Thune says he will too.
Sen. John Thune says, "I think this monstrosity health care bill that’s moving through Congress now is wrong direction to go. And, I'm hopeful we can defeat it then hopefully get down to writing legislation. I think will address the fundamental issue most have with health care in this country and that's the high cost.”
Senator Thune says one of the reasons he does not support it is because of the state of the nation's economy right now.
To get moderate democrats and a few republicans on board, senate democratic leaders hope to cut the costs by hundreds of billions.
