West side shooting sends man to hospital

A man was shot on the west side of Rochester Monday night.

It happened at 4 New York Street, near Jefferson Avenue, just before 9 p.m.

Police tell us that a man in his 30s was approached by at least one male on the street. The suspect apparently shot the victim in the abdomen, and stole some of the victim's property.

The victim was taken to Strong Hospital, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
