Eugene (KMTR) - A Lane County group is reaching out to military families, to help them deal with the stress of deployment. The Oregon Community Circles of Support project educates veterans and their families about the impact of stress on relationships. It also aims create community-wide support for veterans and their families. So far, 12 to 14 families are participating and organizers hope to draw in more. “ Their partner is going to be deployed for a year or a year and a half, and then come back for awhile and then go again and come back. It's difficult for families to adjust – there’s lots of stresses, lots of challenges,” said Lacy Zammerelli, project director. Military partners and kids meet the first and third Sundays of the month at Willamette Family on Cheshire Avenue . Meetings start at one o’clock . The program is available to family members of both active soldiers and military veterans.
