Mario Lopez is all over the entertainment spectrum.
Lopez gained his fame as the host of the Hollywood news show EXTRA, a recurring commentator for boxing events, and as an actor on many television shows, now he has entered the literary world with a new children's book.
Along with his sister Marissa Lopez-Wong, Lopez wrote a picture book called "Mud Tacos," which is based on their childhood growing up in Southern California.
The book was illustrated Maryn Roos, who did the artwork for Whoopi Goldberg's "Sugar Plum Ballerinas, Publishers Weekly reported.
In the story, Mario, Marissa, and their two cousins play together in their grandmother's backyard.
Lopez calls the tale "a reminder of just how much fun we can all have growing up with a little imagination and the ones we love most," according to Publishers Weekly.
"Mud Tacos" is published in both English and Spanish. This is the second book Lopez has published.
Recently, Mario successfully completed another venture, "Mario Lopez's Knockout Fitness," a fitness guide that offers readers a look into Lopez's workout regime. Though Mario's regime is intense, his book caters to every man and woman with the desire to improve their selves physically, according to Lopez's own website.
Born in San Diego, Lopez began his career as the younger brother on the 1984 television series "A.K.A. Pablo." Then he was on NBC's "Saved by the Bell" and USA Network's "Pacific Blue," where he portrayed police officer Bobby Cruz.
"Mud Tacos" is available now, just in time for the holiday season.
