ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) - Puget Sound Energy says its Wild Horse wind farm in the hills of Central Washington has added another 22 turbines producing power.
The new turbines went online Monday and joins the 127 turbines that entered service in December 2006.
The new turbines are expected to produce another 44 megawatts of power at the facility. Initial development of the expanded wind farm began in 2008 and construction was completed earlier this year. Testing and commissioning of the new turbines finished in October.
The wind farm is located atop Whiskey Dick Mountain about 16 miles east of Ellensburg at an elevation of 3,500 feet.
