Mobile County Schools Let Out Early

(MOBILE, Ala.) Nov. 9 - Mobile County public schools let out two hours early Monday, and schools will be closed Tuesday, too. But, some parents say officials should not have waited so late to close the schools, and many criticized the school system for not making the decision sooner. I don't have an easy job to leave in the afternoon, Aladrian Young says. It's an inconvenience they should have decided that yesterday. Mobile County Superintendent Roy Nichols says school officials were waiting for more information before closing schooks and calling for closure Monday would have been premature. At this time yesterday, we didn't know if the storm would fizzle out in the Gulf of Mexico, Nichols says. We had to wait and see what would actually happen.
