Teen Death May Be Related To Alcohol, Prescription Drugs

The death of a Peoria teen over the weekend may be related to alcohol and/or prescription drugs. An autopsy Monday did not reveal an exact cause.

It may take two weeks until the toxicology test results return for an exact cause to Jordan Frase's death to be determined. Right now, the reasons behind it remain a mystery.

Police were called to a home on 3000 block of North Knoxville Sunday afternoon where Jordan was found dead in the basement. The coroner says she may have been dead for several hours as she was staying at a friends house.

Frase was a junior at Peoria High School and member of the ROTC.

"She was at school everyday and worked hard in the classroom. She was a good student. I would call her unassuming. She didn't need a lot of attention. The focus didn't need to be on her all the time," Peoria High Principal Randy Simmons says.

Simmons says from faculty to students, Jordan's death has been hard. Many of the kids saw counselors throughout the day.

"It's been a really tough day today (Monday). The foyer where the kids congregate in the morning was extraordinarily quiet and the kids were asking a lot of questions," Simmons tells News 25.

The coroner reports that Jordan last communicated with her mom late Saturday night. It wasn't until Jordan's mom came to pick her up at the house Sunday afternoon that police were called.

Also, the coroner says the mother of the two teenage boys at the home was not there overnight because she was working.

Peoria police are also investigating the suspicious death but say it's not considered a criminal case.
