J.Lo’s ex blocked from selling alleged sex tape

LOS ANGELES - A California judge has granted a temporary restraining order Tuesday barring Jennifer Lopez's first husband from distributing 11 hours of home video footage from their marriage that the singer-actress claims includes sexual situations.

Ojani Noa and his manager Ed Meyer had planned to distribute the footage and proposed making a film, "The J.Lo and Ojani Noa Story." The Tuesday order also applies to Meyer.

In 2007, she won $545,000 in damages and attorney fees in another lawsuit that blocked Noa from publishing a ghostwritten tell-all book. Lopez claimed Noa demanded $5 million to keep from publishing the book.

Lopez believes the video footage and proposed film are exploitive and offensive and would damage her career and reputation.

Noa disputed the claim.

"It's a movie about my life," he said outside court. "They're trying to ruin my life again ... She don't want me to succeed and that's the problem."

Noa, who represented himself, claimed the footage included nothing sexual and is used to develop characters.

Meyer's attorney, Frank Sanes Jr., said the criticism is undeserved.

"Noa has an interesting story that should be told. He has nothing but respect for Jennifer," Sanes said. "The talk about sex tapes is a smoke screen."

Lopez sued Noa on Friday for $10 million, claiming he breached a prior confidentiality agreement by intending to sell a movie containing hours of home video footage, including some from their 1997 honeymoon.

The suit also claims invasion of privacy by “public disclosure of private facts which would be offensive and objectionable to a reasonable person and which is not of legitimate public concern.”

Lopez and Noa also have fought in another court battles. Noa obtained a $125,000 settlement from Lopez in a 2004 suit that claimed she fired him without cause from a job as manager of her now-defunct Pasadena restaurant. As part of the settlement, he agreed not to disparage Lopez or sell private or intimate details about her or their relationship.

According to court documents in the 2007 case, the book claimed that Lopez had multiple affairs during her marriage to Noa, including one with current husband Marc Anthony.

Lopez, 40, married Anthony in 2004 and they have two children. She also was married to choreographer Cris Judd in 2001. The marriage lasted for nine months.
