INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - State employees are being given the option to take unpaid leave.
Governor Mitch Daniels announced the unpaid leave plan last week as part of a series of budget-cutting measures.
State tax collections are $309 million below expectations during the first four months of the fiscal year.
State workers who want to take unpaid leave can request time off, and it will be up to department supervisors to coordinate requests and make sure agency services continue.
