University of Hawaii Running back Leon Wright Jackson was named the Western Athletic Conference player of the week this morning.
Wright-Jackson ran for a career-high 167 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries in Hawai'i's 49-36 win over Utah State Saturday night for the team's first WAC win of the season.
He is the first Hawaii back to rush for more than 100 yards in a game in nearly three years. During the same game, his teammate, Alex Green, ran for 110 yards. The team rushed for a total of 360 yards.
It was the first time since 1993 that two UH runningbacks broke 100 yards each.
Fresno State safety Lorne Bell and Fresno State placekicker Kevin Goessling were named the WAC defensive and special teams players of the week.
The Warriors face New Mexico State this Saturday at Aloha Stadium.
