PROVIDENCE—Veterans Day will be celebrated on Wednesday, but some students at the George West Elementary School in Providence got an early start Monday.
The Color Guard marched up Beaufort Street and presented a flag, which was raised by Providence School Superintendent Thomas Brady. The flag was flown two years ago over the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and presented to the school last year.
Several students who have loved-ones serving active duty were presented with citations by a representative from the city.
