Fire crews responded to 448 Camden Ridge Drive at about 9:25 p.m. and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the structure. The fire was under control less than 30 minutes later.

Investigators said an unattended pot of grease on the stove in a kitchen near the front of the house started the fire. The fire then spread to the side of the home.

Fire crews pulled one of the victims, identified by a nursing supervisor as Paul Urban, from a second-floor bedroom. The other person, Christina Harris, was already out of the home when crews arrived.

Harris was treated and released from WFUBMC.

Two firefighters also suffered minor injuries, described as steam burns. They were transported to Forsyth Medical Center, where they were treated and released.

Fire officials estimated the damages to the house at $100,000 with another $50,000 in damages to the contents.
