A mother and son are in custody after an early-morning shooting that left one man injured.
Anderson County Deputies responded to the home at 204 Willingham Road in Williamston after a 911 call came in from a man who said he had been shot by his girlfriend.
Officers said the shooting happened at about 5 a.m. Sunday.
Tony McJunkin, 41, told dispatchers he had been shot through the arm, and the bullet was lodged in his side.
Investigators said McJunkin had gone to his ex-girlfriend's home. Officers said Allison Ledford, 43, told McJunkin to leave.
Leford's son, Johnathan Cole, 22, heard the commotion and got into a fight with McJunkin, police said.
During the fight Cole hit McJunkin with a blunt object and Ledford fired a shot, officers said.
McJunkin was taken to a hospital for treatment. Ledford and Cole are being detained.
Police said charges of assault and battery with intent to kill are pending.
