A soccer field in Westmoreland County was dedicated Saturday in memory of Air Force Staff Sgt. David Wieger.
Wieger was killed in 2007 when an improvised explosives device detonated in Balad, Iraq. Wieger was also a special agent in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
His brother called the memorial on the soccer fields where they used to play a perfect tribute.
"It's a great honor that it's here in this field, and it's just a wonderful memorial piece with his picture on it and the soccer ball on the front and his playing number of No. 5 on the front. It's a great honor for that to be here," said Michael Wieger, David Wieger's brother.
The soccer fields at Oak Hollow Park are now dedicated to Wieger.
