BILLINGS - Police said one person was taken into custody Saturday after driving his vehicle across two private lawns and smashing into a tree.
The driver came within inches of hitting a home on the corner of 14th street West and Avenue E. Police said two people fled the scene, but the driver was later found and arrested. They add that witnesses helped them piece together the accident.
"She heard like a loud bang, she was on the phone and she looked out and saw somebody, someone had driven across her yard and hit the tree at the neighbors. They didn't hit the house, but they hit the tree," said Officer Gunther of the Billings Police Department. Officials said they are still investigating this accident.
