A Lexington police officer was taken to the hospital Saturday following an afternoon crash.

It happened around 12:45 on Waller Avenue. Police say Officer Mike Carroll was driving a motorcycle, when another driver crossed lanes into his path. Carroll had nowhere to go.

He was taken to the hospital where he was treated for an elbow and ankle injury as well as some road rash.
