PREBLE COUNTY, Ohio - WLWT.com
A Preble County sheriff's captain is dead and doctors said the H1N1 virus is partially to blame.
Capt. Michael Thornsberry, 38, fell ill about Oct. 20 with what was believed to be pneumonia, deputies said.
Officials said he was taken to Reid Hospital in Richmond on Oct. 25 when his condition worsened. He was later flown to Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.
Doctors said he was diagnosed with both viral and bacterial pneumonia, as well as the H1N1 virus.
Thornsberry is survived by his wife, Michelle, and daughters Faith and Ally Grace. Deputies said he was a 15-year veteran of the sheriff's office.
Information on memorial services will be released in the next few days.
