JACKSON, Miss. - WAPT.com
Bands, fans and alumni came from as far away as Chicago and Detroit for Jackson State University's big homecoming weekend.
The game didn't kick off until Saturday at 4 p.m., but that morning the annual JSU homecoming parade made its way through downtown.
Some alumni in attendance said they've been coming to the annual celebration for 10, 20 and some even 30 years.
David Jones, of Huntsville, Ala., said he hasn't missed a homecoming since he enrolled at Jackson State in 1984.
"Since I'm a native Jacksonian, homecoming means come back to Mississippi and enjoy Jackson State," said 1977 graduate Brenda Anderson.
David Griffin Jr. said he came from St. Louis, as he has been doing for the last 30 years.
