Despite almost summerlike temperatures, Water Works Park was beginning to look a little like Christmas.
Volunteers from Make-A-Wish spent the day assembling and setting up various light displays for this year's Jolly Holiday Lights. Crews said they planned to spend the next two weekends preparing for the annual display's Thanksgiving weekend debut.
The volunteers said they were happy that the weather cooperated for them.
"Last year and the year before, we had snow as we were setting up," said Al Knudsen. "We've had rain and wind. With all of the rain we've had this year, we were kind of worried we'd be underwater. It's not too bad. There's a few wet spots we'll have to work around. But all in all, it's in good shape."
Jolly Holiday Lights runs through the first week of January.
