DES MOINES, Iowa - THEIOWACHANNEL.com
About 500 couples went on a hunt for jewelry in Des Moines on Saturday.
Joseph Jewelers invited them to Nollen Plaza to begin a series of challenges that would lead one of the couples to a $12,000 diamond ring.
Diamond seekers were given a series of clues through text messages and could use bikes, skateboards or their feet, but could not enlist cars in the search.
Couples said they had plans for the ring, if they found it.
"I guess she gets it," said Scott Mills, about his wife Carrie. "That's not fair, is it? Especially if I do all the work."
All participants were invited to a party at the Raccoon River Brewery after the search.
