Golden Alert Cancelled: Lexington Woman Found Safe

A Golden Alert was cancelled Friday night in Lexington when a 69-year old woman was found safe in the area of Leestown Middle School.

Mary Elizabeth Harbert had been last seen by one of her brothers at about 5 a.m. Friday at her home on Dunkirk Drive. Another brother arrived at the house to take her to a dentist appointment at 1 p.m. said she was not there. Harbert is schizophrenic and has a history of wandering away from her home.

After an hours-long search by Lexington Police and Firefighters, Ms. Harbert was located at approximately 10:00 pm on Leestown Road, about three miles from her home.
