MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that a school system can cancel a teacher’s extra duties as a coach after the school year has ended.
Seven teachers had sued the Birmingham Board of Education because they were dropped from non-teaching supplemental positions, such as coaching and other sports-related activities, after the school year ended. Losing the extra duties reduced their paychecks.
