It was justified. That's the ruling from the coroner's inquest into the shooting of 15 year old Tanner Chamberlin by a Metro officer.

On Friday, video from the incident, recorded on a Taser, was shown during the inquest. Chamberlin was holding a knife to his mother's neck. Six witnesses were called to testify, including his mother, Evie Aquendo, and the officer who fired his gun, killing the teen.

"The fact she had a knife to her throat - I believe he was going to kill her," testified Metro officer Derek Colling. "I then saw that I had the opportunity to end the situation and save her life so I fired one shot in the center of his head."

The jury deliberated for less than an hour and found the officer's actions were justified that September day.
