Local Marine accused of murder

A former local high school student and Marine at Camp Lejeune is accused of murdering another Marine.

The Marine Corps base says Private Johnathan Law is in the hospital from an apparent self inflicted gun shot wound. He attended Silverado High School.

Officials say a Marine was found dead Friday morning at the North Carolina Base. Information about the victim has not been released; nor has information regarding a motive.

Camp officials say Law was a supply administration clerk and joined the Marine Corps in 2006. He has won several service awards. Law served time in Iraq between 2007 and 2008.
