YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima Valley wineries are making a name for themselves across the state and nationally.
The director of Wine Yakima Valley said they're focusing on marketing outside of Yakima and some local wines have recently been featured in national publications. They're hoping to attract more visitors, sell more wine, ultimately boosting the local economy.
"I think Yakima Valley is getting a good foot hold nationally, we are starting to be really recognized for the wine, the fruit quality and the wine quality," said Barbra Glover, executive director, Wine Yakima Valley.
Yakima Valley was named North America's fourth top wine destination and Yakima wine was served at the G-20 summit.
