Couple walks away from plane crash at the Santa Barbara Airport

A light plane crashed near a Santa Barbara Airport runway around 12:48 p.m. Friday. Santa Barbara City Fire crews were called out to the airport when a single engine general aviation aircraft landed in a grass area next to a runway.

Initial reports show that the plane was attempting to land when the pilot lost control. The Nevada couple aboard the plane was not injured. The FAA will be conducting an investigation.
