Customers of PPL continue to contact News 8, asking about a letter they are getting from Dominion Energy offering lower rates.
As News 8 reported Thursday, the letter is legitimate and could be the first of several offers that electric customers may get from energy suppliers in the coming weeks.
With the expiration of electric rate caps at the end of the year, PPL customers will have the opportunity to switch to other retail electric suppliers.
Dominion is offering customers a rate that is 10 percent lower than PPL’s for one year, but there is no guarantee that rate will stay low after one year.
