Police Search For Cross-Dressing Armed Robbery Suspect

Police in Madison County are investigating after a bizarre robbery at a motel.

It happened Friday morning at the Comfort Suites off exit 87 in Richmond. We're told a man, dressed as a woman, walked into the motel and asked the clerk how much it was to rent a room. The clerk said the man went outside to his car, came back in and acted as if he were paying with cash. However, when the clerk reached for the money, we're told the suspect used a stun gun on her, took money from the register and ran out of the motel.

The clerk was not seriously hurt.

The suspect was described as wearing a reddish-brown wig, blue or black toboggan and make-up, including bright blue eyeshadow. Police believe he got away in a newer model, silver, Chevy Impala.
