Levittown - THE MERRY GUNNERSOn Saturday afternoon, the gunners began to arrive on their way to the upper end to be ready for "Br'er Rabbit" on Monday morning. Most of them came from Philadelphia, bringing with them every previously known breed of dogs and a number of recently discovered ones. About one hundred and fifty went up on the Easton trolley and at least half that many more passed through the town in all kinds of conveyances from a wheelbarrow down. Every one of them had from one to five dogs and on Sunday afternoon the Easton trolleys looked like a full fledged dog show with numerous entries. They all brought back game, nearly every one of them had shot up to the limit, ten, and had a few birds beside. Our friends from the city are not particular as to what they shoot just so they shoot something, so that chickens, ducks, pigeons and guineas are usually the greater part of their string and one enterprising sportsman, after big game, shot a cow. It is said of one party that all other resources failing they even shot themselves. One thing is certain some of them were pretty well shot when they reached here on their return trip but that is attributed to the exhilarating brand of ozone they found North of the town.
