Seymour Community Schools closed its Sixth Grade Center because of widespread illness.
Superintendent Dr. Teran Armstrong said 80 of 300 students who attend class in the building that houses sixth-graders contracted gastroenteritis.
The Health Department recommended sending the students home and cleaning the school.
The sixth graders will not have class Friday.
