Flags at High Point fire stations were being flown at half-staff after the sudden death of one of the department's firefighters.
Fire Department Capt. Denita Lynch said fire equipment operator Chad Greene, 34, of Kernersville, died on Wednesday.
Lynch said Greene's death was sudden and there had been no warning signs. He wasn't on duty.
Greene had been a member of the High Point Fire Department for 13 years. He was also a member of the Union Cross Fire Department in Kernersville.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
