String of armed robberies along Lawyers Road

MINT HILL, N.C. -- Police are looking into three armed robberies within the last four weeks.

The latest happened Wednesday morning around 9:40 at the McDonalds on the 9100 block of Lawyers Road. Police say a man drove up to the drive thru window in a white pickup truck and pointed a handgun at the cashier while demanding money.

Police say the man was middle aged wearing a green toboggan and dark sunglasses. Witnesses said that the man had reddish brown facial hair.

Last week on October 25 two men pulled off an armed robbery at a Walgreens on Lawyers Road. There were employees and customers inside at the time.

Investigators say the men came into the store around 8:50 a.m. Both men were armed with semi automatic handguns. The pair stole two cash drawers and some other merchandise and then fled on foot.

Police say both men are between the ages of 18-25. They both were wearing black ski masks and had slender builds. One was about 5'3 and the other 5'8.

Six days before that, a man walked into the Bojangles in the 900 block of Lawyers Road with a gun. Investigators say the man stood about 5'8 to 6' and wore a brown hooded sweatshirt.

In all three cases police have not made an arrests.
