Teen Dies After U.S. 29 Traffic Crash

GREENSBORO - WXII12.com
Highway 29 north in Guilford County was blocked near McKnight Mill Road Wednesday afternoon after a car crashed into a ditch and flipped over into a retaining pond, killing a Reidsville teen.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. as the young woman was driving her 2000 Nissan Altima northbound on U.S. 29, according to Greensboro police.
She was rushed to Moses Cone Hospital and later pronounced dead.
Police have identified the victim as 18-year-old Laura Cristina Salinas.
Police said one lane of traffic was moving just before 5 p.m. It wasn't immediately known what caused the crash.
The Greensboro Police Crash Reconstruction Unit will continue investigating.
