Harley-Davidson announced Wednesday that they may close their largest assembly plant, located in York, Pennsylvania, and move it to Shelby County.

The Pennsylvania plant, home to the company's Touring and Softail motorcycle production operation, currently employs 2,000 people. Harley-Davidson says the economic recession is cutting into its profits and could force the closing of the Pennsylvania location.

Company officials say they will make the decision by the end of the year.
