COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - A Putnam County mother has been charged with child abuse and neglect after leaving her child in her car, police said.

Police said Donna Huffman parked in the fire lane, left the car running with her 9-month-old inside and ran into Walmart.

They said she was in the store for about 20 minutes.

The baby was not hurt.
