Singer and keyboardist Dennis DeYoung is a founding member of Styx, whose yearning ballads and lush sound defined a style of rock music that dominated the scene in the late 1970s and early '80s. DeYoung performs with the Pacific Symphony at the Orange County Performing Arts Center from Nov. 5-7.
DeYoung recently spoke with the Register about the upcoming concert. He also threw in some thought-provoking and humorous musings on the music industry, then and now, and how a lack of talent isn't necessarily a shortcoming.
