MAULDIN, S.C. - WYFF 4.com
Greenville County deputies are investigating a shooting after a man was found facedown in a driveway with a gunshot wound. Deputies said he was shot in the back of the head.
The shooting happened Tuesday night just before 7:30 at a home on Bridges Road in the Mauldin area.
Deputies said they went to Bridges Road because "someone was knocking on doors saying his friend was shot." They said the man knocked on several doors before someone telephoned 911.
Investigators have not released any names in connection with this incident.
The victim survived the gunshot wound and was treated at the hospital and released, according to Public Information Officer Matt Armstrong.
Deputies said they questioned several men, including the driver of a car the victim was in before the shooting. That driver told deputies another man got in the vehicle after the victim had agreed to meet with him at a gas station in the Five Forks area.
When they returned to the Bridges Road home, the driver said told deputies an unknown, newer-model Toyota Corolla, silver in color, pulled in behind him. As the driver, victim and the man exited the vehicle, the man allegedly shot the victim in the back of the head. He then left in the Corolla.
No charges have been filed in the case.
