Newcomer Republican Michael Hartline and Democratic incumbent Jane Lynch won their race for school board seats in the Centennial School District, ousting incumbent board member Democrat Michael Monaghan. Hartline and Lynch represent Warminster.

Lynch has opposed the plan to close five of six elementary schools in favor of building two new schools and renovating one. Though the closure plan is moving forward, “I have great hopes that we can change this around. The public does not want this,” she said. “The disruption to the children will be massive. My goal is to keep more schools open. Will I succeed? I don’t know, but I’ll try.”

Michael Hartline said the first order of business is tackling the Willow Dale Elementary School renovation.

With no opposition, Republican Betty Huf will serve another 4-year term representing Ivyland and part of Warminster.

Democrat Kati Driban will also stay on for another term. She took over Joseph Simpson’s position in December after he moved out of the district. Driban represents Upper Southampton.
