Linda Thompson will be the next mayor of Harrisburg.

Thompson, a Democrat, defeated Republican Nevin Mindlind.
Before running for mayor, Thompson served as a councilwoman in the Capitol city. She defeated longtime Democratic incumbent Stephen Reed in the May primary.
