School-age children are the new target of the Broome County Health Department's swine flu prevention efforts. The health department received a shipment of 35 hundred doses of H1N1 vaccine yesterday and plan to start clinics in local school districts tomorrow. Health officials say grade school children currently have the greatest need. According to the department, the order in which schools will receive their clinics was determined in part by size, readiness and random selection. First on the list, Harpursville which holds its clinic tomorrow from 3 P-M to 8. Deposit will be next on Thursday with middle and high school students getting shots during the day and younger kids coming in the evening when the nasal spray will also be available. Only students may receive vaccinations at the school clinics. More schools will be scheduled next week depending on how many doses are leftover, and how many more arrive on Monday.
