10 Mozart recordings to get you started

A friend once asked me what it was, exactly, that I liked about Mozart. The question was a bit like asking someone what they liked about the color green. I wanted to answer, but I was a little stumped. I ended up making up something.

There was a time, though, when I had no great appreciation for Mozart. In my late teens and early 20s, already deep into classical music, I didn't have any special interest in his music. It seemed too simple to me, and I just didn't listen to it much. My prejudice gradually slipped away (as it will with anyone who takes the time to listen) and I was able to find the beauty in the music. My future wife's recommendations helped a lot too.
