Pittsburgh police said a traffic stop ended with what officers called a "dangerous" police chase early Tuesday morning in the city's Homewood section.
Around 1 a.m., police stopped a car on Brushton Avenue. Officers told Channel 4 they stopped the car because it had heavily tinted windows, a registration issue and one of the lights was out.
During the stop, officers said a passenger got out of the car and attempted to run away. Police said the driver then pulled away and hit the man who had fled on foot.
Police said the man hit by the car suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
Police chased the car into Wilkinsburg, where it crashed over a hillside. The driver abandoned the vehicle and ran off.
Police used dogs to try and find the man, but he remains at large.
Investigators told Channel 4 Action News that there were four men inside the car, two of those men have been identified and at least one of those men has served time for murder.
Police have not yet released the names of the suspects.
