Son-in-Law Accused of Veteran's Murder

(SARALAND, Ala.) Nov. 2 - Saraland police say they know who killed Iraq War veteran Anthony Embley last month. Police say it was John Lamar Pope, the victim's son-in law. Authorities say Pope had a motive, but they are not releasing it because of the continuing investigation. Police are also not releasing how Embley was killed. LOCAL 15 talked to people in Embley's community. Neighbors say someone knew the victim lived alone, and they are devastated. We are continuing with the investigation, and we don't want to compromise the investigation through releasing too much information, Chief Kevin Anderson says. But, Anderson says witnesses have stepped forward with key information in the case. Witnesses that have knowledge about what may have been going on behind the scenes.
