A Lake Park jewelry store owner got into a shootout with four people who tried to rob the business Monday afternoon, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.
The shootout occurred at about 1:15 p.m. at the Jewelry Exchange, located at 900 Federal Highway.
Deputies said the clerk buzzed a woman inside the business when three men entered behind her.
"Several black males and a black female entered the business and attempted to rob the store," Lt. John Hill said. "The precise details are not known yet, but a confrontation ensued and shots were fired by both the store owner and the suspects."
Deputies said no one was injured and that it appeared nothing was taken.
The culprits got away.
