Las Vegas police have identified the officer who shot a man who was allegedly fleeing the scene of a traffic stop.
Police have said Officer David Gilbert fired his weapon after he saw Raymond James Duensing trying to take a gun out of his pants.
Duensing had been pulled over by Gilbert on Thursday during a routine traffic stop. Police say Duensing then fled.
Duensing is recovering and his condition has been upgraded to fair.
Gilbert is an officer in the traffic bureau. He's been with the police department since February 1993.
