BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - WPBF.com
The doors remained closed Monday morning at a Boynton Beach strip club accused of peddling drugs and allowing prostitution and underage drinking.
A sign on the doors of Platinum Showgirls said its alcoholic beverage license had been suspended following a raid by the Boynton Beach police SWAT team Friday night.
Owner Matt Barrow and manager Kenneth Willig were among 30 employees arrested on charges including racketeering, felony public nuisance and deriving support from proceeds of prostitution.
Police said the raid was the result of a four-month undercover investigation in which officers allegedly bought cocaine and prescription painkillers from dancers at the club.
"Honestly, if you go to any strip club in the world, there's unscrupulous things that happen," Willig told WPBF 25 News in an exclusive interview. "We've really tried to eliminate it. … (We've told the girls), 'If we see drugs, if we hear about drugs, you guys will be in trouble.'"
